We have a very active Research and Development group that works hard to design gear that works well in the boating world. Then, inevitably, a customer comes up with another great use for a product. Here are a couple of photos of rather unique gear innovations:

Alison Sigethy has just left to join other members of the Arctic Voice Expedition. This year’s 600-mile sea kayaking leg is part of what will eventually be a 3,000 mile journey by kayak and dog sled. They are documenting and raising awareness of the effect of climate change on the Canadian Arctic, and its native Inuit people.
She is an experienced kayaker who holds numerous certifications from both the American Canoe Association (ACA) and British Canoe Union (BCU). She is a recognized authority on Greenland-style paddling. Additionally, she is a professional artist, creating sculptures out of recycled glass that are inspired by the environment, the rhythms of nature and her love of water.
